PNOA plans we are in network with
- PNOA
Plan networks change every year. Give us the full plan name and the member ID from your card and we will check it against the products we are contracted for.
PNOA is a provider network accessed through employer sponsored plans and third party administrators. We are in it, and we see members age 16 and older at our Southlake office.
What verification actually tells you
There is a persistent gap between what patients expect a front desk to know and what it can know, and it causes more bad feeling than almost anything else in medical billing. Worth being clear about it.
What we can confirm. That we hold a contract with your network. That your coverage is active as of today. What the eligibility response returns about your plan, including whether a primary care provider designation is required.
What we cannot confirm. Your deductible. How much of it you have already met this year. What this specific visit will cost you. Those live with your plan administrator, and they change as other claims process.
An office that answers the second group confidently is guessing. We would rather tell you which question to ask and who to ask it.
When to check
A few days before your appointment is plenty. What matters is that the check is recent.
Coverage changes at plan year boundaries and after any job change, and a verification from six months ago tells you about a plan you may no longer be on. This catches people who assume last year’s answer still holds.
If it comes back inactive
You will hear about it before the visit rather than after. At that point ask about self-pay pricing.
We would rather quote you a clear number than have you skip care entirely, which is what usually happens when somebody discovers a coverage gap at the front desk and walks out.
What we handle
Annual physicals, preventive screening, chronic conditions, sick visits, weight management, women’s health, men’s health and telehealth.
Patients age 16 and older. No pediatric, prenatal or emergency care.
Book a visit, or see all employer network plans.
PNOA questions we get asked
What can you confirm for me, and what can you not?
We can confirm that we are contracted, that your coverage is active, and what the eligibility response says about your plan. We cannot tell you your deductible, how much of it you have met, or what you will owe. Only your plan administrator has that.
Why can a doctor's office not just tell me what a visit costs?
Because the price depends on your plan design, your deductible position and how the visit is coded, and the office does not hold the first two. Any office that quotes you a confident number before a visit is estimating.
How far ahead should I verify?
A few days is plenty. Coverage changes at plan year boundaries and after job changes, so a check from six months ago is not reliable.
What if my coverage turns out to be inactive?
You will hear it from us before the appointment. Ask about self-pay pricing at that point, because a clear number beats skipping care.
