Rachael Bowen, NP
Rachael Bowen is the Family Nurse Practitioner you will see at your appointments. She brings a decade of nursing and advanced practice experience to primary care, most of it spent with seriously ill patients, and that background shapes how she practices: thorough, unhurried, and focused on catching problems while they are still small.
She spent years in intensive care before moving into primary care, which is where she learned how quickly a chronic condition turns into a crisis and how much of it was preventable years earlier. That is the lens she brings to a routine visit.
You see her every time. Not whoever is available, not a different face each visit. Continuity is what makes it possible to notice that your weight has drifted up eight pounds across three visits, or that your blood pressure got worse the same month you changed jobs.

A smaller practice, on purpose
Most primary care in this area belongs to large hospital systems. That works well when you need a hospital. It works poorly when you need twenty unhurried minutes with somebody who knows your history and can adjust the medication you have been on for three years.
Magnolia is built the other way around. One nurse practitioner who sees you every visit, appointment slots long enough to finish the conversation, and same-day openings held back each day we are open, so being sick does not mean a two-hour urgent care wait with a provider who has never met you.
Being independent matters too. When you need a specialist, the referral goes where it should rather than where a system directs it, and we send your records along and follow up to make sure the appointment actually happened. Referrals fail at the handoff far more often than they fail at the decision.

How it works
Online or by phone. We verify your insurance while you are on the line rather than leaving it to the front desk on the day. If we cannot see you when you need, we say so straight away instead of leaving you waiting on a callback.
Forty to forty-five minutes, most of it conversation. History, medications, family history, and what is actually bothering you, which is often not what you wrote on the form. Exam follows. Labs drawn here before you leave, so there is no second trip.
You leave with a written plan and a date. Results come back in two to three business days through the portal with an explanation attached, not a list of flagged values. If something needs a conversation, we call you rather than waiting for you to notice a message.

That means annual physicals your team can actually get scheduled, same-day appointments when someone is sick instead of a half day lost to urgent care, and a real relationship with one provider rather than a rotating panel. For employers, the practical benefit is fewer lost days and fewer small problems that turn into large ones.
We are not selling a corporate wellness package or a membership program. This is ordinary primary care, billed to your employees' insurance like any other visit, with a practice close enough to reach on a lunch break.

Establishing care
If you have not seen anyone in years, the first visit is a full physical with labs. It is the most useful appointment you can book, because it gives us a baseline set of numbers to compare everything against later. Most people who come in after a long gap have at least one number that needs attention, and almost none of them had symptoms.
If you already have a practice and are moving, bring your medication bottles and sign a records release at the first visit. We would rather read your last two years of results than repeat tests you had six weeks ago. Transferring care should not mean starting over.
If you are managing a condition that needs regular attention, we will set a follow-up schedule at that first visit and put the labs in ahead of each one, so the results are in front of us when you sit down rather than arriving three days later with no plan attached.
What we do not do
Being clear about this saves everyone a wasted trip. We see patients age 16 and older, so we do not provide pediatric care. We do not provide prenatal care, though we are glad to manage anything unrelated alongside your obstetric practice.
We are not an emergency room and not an urgent care. We are open Tuesday through Friday and Saturday afternoons, and we do not have an after-hours clinical line. Outside those hours, urgent care is the right choice. For chest pain, trouble breathing, one-sided weakness, slurred speech or a serious injury, call 911 rather than calling us first.
We also do not sell supplements, run cash-only membership programs, or offer testing that has no evidence behind it. If you want something in that category, we will tell you honestly what the evidence supports and let you decide.
Questions new patients ask
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. We are a new practice with openings now, which means appointments are easy to get and you will not wait a month for a routine visit. That changes as a practice fills, so if you have been meaning to establish care, this is the easy window.
Do you take my insurance?
We accept most major commercial plans and Medicare. Networks change every year, so check our insurance page or call the office with your specific plan name before you book. Plan names are similar enough that guessing from the carrier logo gets people into trouble.
Who will I actually see at my appointment?
You will see Rachael Bowen, NP, a Family Nurse Practitioner, at every visit. Dr. Farhan Abdullah, DO, board certified in Internal Medicine, is our Medical Director and is not currently taking routine appointments.
Do you see children?
No. We see patients age 16 and older only. We do not provide pediatric care, and we would rather tell you that on the phone than after you have driven over.
Can I be seen the same day if I am sick?
Usually yes. We hold same-day slots Tuesday through Friday and on Saturday afternoons. Call as soon as we open, since they tend to fill quickly. See our same-day sick visits page.
How long is a typical appointment?
About 40 to 45 minutes for a new patient visit or an annual physical, and 20 to 30 minutes for a follow-up. We build the schedule around that rather than trying to compress it, which is the main practical difference between a small practice and a large one.
Can you take over my prescriptions and chronic conditions from another practice?
Yes. Bring your medication bottles or a printed list, and sign a records release at your first visit so we can pull your recent labs instead of repeating everything.
Do you offer video visits?
Yes, for the problems that do not need an exam room: medication follow-ups, lab result reviews, mental health follow-ups and blood pressure check-ins. See our telehealth page for what works on video and what does not.
