Background
Rachael started as a floor nurse at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, then moved into the intensive care unit, where she spent several years caring for critically ill patients. That is where she learned how quickly chronic disease turns into a crisis, and how much of it was preventable years earlier.
After finishing her nurse practitioner degree, she worked in post-acute care, managing patients recovering from surgery, stroke, cardiac events, and long hospital stays. Those patients are complicated. They arrive on a dozen medications with three specialists who have never spoken to each other, and somebody has to make the whole picture make sense.
She brings that same approach to primary care at Magnolia: figure out what is actually driving the problem, treat it properly, and keep track of it over time.
